”Wind – build an Anemometer”

 

Short description about the project

Children build an anemometer together and understand physical concepts better.

Age group

4.-9.

Instructions

Introduction to the topic: In small groups – each child tries to blow their cotton wool across the table. Optionally also feasible as a competition. Discussion, observation
Conclusion: There are different strengths of wind. Observation of nature.
Build a wind meter (anemometer).
Materials are made available to the small groups (2 – 4 people). If necessary, the instructor will provide support. After completion, they are tested and displayed outdoors.

Goals

Use STEAM creatively and playfully with the aim of: Better understanding of natural phenomena, first experiences with physics, recognising physical concepts, arousing interest in technology.

Physical and mathematical skills, fine motor skills, creativity, teamwork, manual skills

Materials and machines needed

Cotton wool, yoghurt cups, wooden sticks, shashlik sticks, cork discs, wooden beads, hammer, nails
