”Programming with the Calliope mini”
Short description about the project
The Calliope mini is a single-board computer that was developed for educational purposes and is used in German elementary school. The aim is to give pupils from the third grade onwards a playful introduction to programming and algorithmic thinking. In addition to pupils, teachers and the education system are also to be reached so that more digital content can be taught in schools in the long term. The microcontroller can be programmed using various web-based development environments.

Instructions
The Calliope mini is explained using a Power Point presentation and all functions are shown and tried out. Afterwards there are small tasks that the participants have to solve with a small program. The focus here is on independent, easy programming. The tasks build on each other and become more and more challenging.
Goals
Playful introduction to programming. Algorithmic thinking and discovering their talents.
Skills
Math and Physics skills and experience in the graphical programming language.
Materials and machines needed
You will need a Calliope mini package and a PC with Internet access.

Group size
Maximum 20 Kids (one child per PC)
